Jim Rose Magazine Layout

Posted in Uncategorized by jrose1387 on April 14, 2010

I chose this layout because it went with the theme for my magazine cover which was a Philadelphia edition of a magazine called City Cites.  I wish I has a better picture of the city but this was the type of weather I had when I went to take the picture.  The layout talks about all of the different places tourists would want to see if they visited the city.  It covers museums, historical venues, the arts of Philadelphia, and resataurants.

Jim Rose’s Magazine Cover

The Magazine Cover that I created is called City Cites.  I know that the word ‘Cites’ is spelled wrong but I did that on purpose.  The reason is that it gave the cover some repitition with the two words in the title starting with the letter ‘C’ and because I thought it would stand out.  The reason I chose this picture and this idea is because I enjoy seeing different monumnets and landmarks around the country and the world even though I have not seen many.  I also have a great appreciation for the architecture.  I thought that it would be fun and different and I enjoyed working on the project.

This Time Magazine cover is by all means not the most eye pleasing cover to some people.  The reason that I chose this cover is because I am a big fan of national monumnets and landmarks.  We all know what this monument is and what it represents.

The magazine that I am going to design is one that shows monuments in the city of Philadelphia.  The idea that I have for the name of the magazine is “City Cites”.  I know that the word Cites really starts with an “s” but I wanted it to stand out and maybe it will show a little bit a repitition in my design.

Infograph: Jim Rose

The infograpgh that I chose was a ven diagram about Major League Baseball team names.  It breaks up the team names into different categories like animals, clothing, colors, and others.  The reason I chose this is because I am a big baseball fan and because I thought it was clever and I never looked at the team names like this.
